上回講到幫呢支 Flying V 完成咗琴頸黏合嘅大手術，結構已經恢復咗應有嘅強度同傳導。但對一位製琴師嚟講，結構穩固只係基礎，真正嘅挑戰係點樣還原果種被稱為「靈魂」嘅 Vintage Tone。

當結構、木材、Nitro 硝基漆同埋 PAF 拾音器都到位嘅時候，最後一塊拼圖，往往就係被好多人忽略嘅——弦枕材料。

客人原本用緊牛骨，雖然聲底乾淨，但同 50 年代果種溫暖、帶點鼻音（Honk）嘅中頻始終差咗少少。

為咗搵返呢個聲，我放下咗市面上現成嘅零件，投入咗一段時間去研究材料配方。

經過反覆比對原廠數據同測試不同密度，我終於調製出並且搵咗一間工廠製作呢款質感同頻率傳導都最接近「正宗規格」嘅尼龍材料。

迷人之處在哪？

因為呢隻尼龍有一種獨特嘅韌性，當它結合了 Gibson 的木結構、薄薄的 Nitro 硝基漆，以及 PAF 拾音器，它會過濾掉刺耳的高頻，轉而產生一種凝聚、圓潤，甚至帶點「鼻音」的中頻表現。當你彈落去果一刻，你會發現聲音唔再係單薄嘅金屬撞擊聲，而係一種非常有層次、圓潤且獨特嘅韻味。

由琴頸修復到材料研究，每一處細節嘅累積，先至成就到最後呢種令人感動嘅聲音。

【 Searching for the Lost Sound 🔍 | Why I Obsessed Over a Single Nut for this Flying V 】

I recently performed a "major surgery" on a client’s Flying V, reverting the nut material from bone back to Nylon.

While many assume a bone nut is the ultimate upgrade, in the world of Gibson—especially for those chasing that authentic Vintage Tone—the Nylon 6/6 nut is the true "open secret."

I’ve tried ordering various "Vintage Spec" nylon materials from different sources, but the feel and sound were always slightly off.

They either felt too "plastic" or lacked the correct texture during the filing process.

To bridge that final gap,

I spent months cross-referencing original specs and collaborated with a material specialist to refine a custom formula.

Why the obsession?

Because when the right Nylon formula meets Gibson’s mahogany structure, the thin Nitrocellulose lacquer, and a set of PAF pickups,

it creates a specific midrange punch and that iconic "honk" that bone can never replicate.

This wasn't just a simple part replacement; it was a deep-dive experiment into the physics of tone.
